Before joining Dunston in 2008, Peter worked in the Financial Services sector for over 30 years in a Business Analyst / IT Systems Development capacity.
He recently retired from an IT Manager role, with responsibility for maintaining and developing a number of key systems via development teams in both the UK and India. That involved ongoing development of bespoke systems, integration of package solutions and integration with external agencies and suppliers through industry standards. In addition, he assisted the business with their strategic vision, provided project management when necessary and managed multi million pound budgets.
His proudest achievement was a 1997 IT industry award for the development of an intranet application. That enabled home-based workers to receive electronic instructions of their following day’s appointments, as well as pre-populating an application with the initial details. A breakthrough development at the time, the process improved service, productivity and data quality.
Having met through hockey, Peter has been a good friend of Malcolm Hearn for 40 years. Peter claims that the thought of him improving his golf handicap in retirement prompted Malcolm to offer him a part-time role at Dunston, where he has now assumed responsibility for contracts and financial analysis, and occasionally gets the opportunity to dust off his consultancy skills.
